Double Diploma program between NTUU KPI and Otto-von-Guericke University is run through the Joint Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The program consists of two parts:
After successful finishing of the program graduates are certified as MSc in Ukraine and Germany, they also obtain Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer Hochschulzugang certificate.
The Undergraduate course lasts for four years and is run in parallel with Undergraduate bachelor’s one.
During the first and second years Joint Department students study as all the other Welding Faculty students and additionally they attend German language classes for 12 hours per week. Students have a language practicing with native speakers and obtain certificates in the end.
During the third and fourth years some of the additional hours are used for lections on special courses in German (for example, Welding Physics course). Students work with professors from the Magdeburg university. In the end of the third year students undergo practical training in Germany.
After finishing the bachelor’s course students uphold a Ukrainian bachelor’s diploma and undergo language practical training in Germany. It ends with a test and students obtain a Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer Hochschulzugang certificate.
During the postgraduate course students continue their training in both NTUU KPI and Otto-von-Guericke University. They study for three semesters in Germany doing their research and studying according to German postgraduate program. One more semester they spend in Ukraine to pass all the examinations needed according to the native one.
After finishing the master’s study the students uphold a diploma of master of sciences both in Germany and Ukraine.
The program graduates can continue their research wok for the PhD degree in the Joint Department.
How to participate
To start the training course on the Joint department one needs to be an undergraduate student of Welding Faculty on his/ her first year of study. It is not important if the student is good or not in German language. Training is provided on contract base.
To follow the postgraduate program one needs to fulfil all the entry requirements of both NTUU KPI and Otto-von-Guericke MSc’s courses.
