The influence of thermal impact in nonconsumable electrode and electron beam welding on the features of cracking in different sections of the HAZ of high-strength complex-alloyed aluminium alloys V96 and V96tss at off-center tension has been analyzed. It is shown that the used temperature-time parameters of the welding mode change the volume fraction of particles contained in the alloy, their dimensions, shape and morphology of inclusion location on the boundary between the grains have an essential influence on the local stressed state in the HAZ metal and determine the associated mechanism of fracture site initiation.

The possibility of controlling energy parameters of plasmatrons with a combined energy supply is studied. It is shown that changing the content of a hydrocarbon component in the initial plasma mixture allows changing over a wide range the absolute value of the plasmatron power and its specific energy parameters during operation, as well as influencing the oxidation-reduction potential of a working medium and conditions of electrode operation. Several possible modes of operation of plasmatrons with the hydrocarbon component in the initial plasma mixture are proposed, allowing changing conditions of the technological process by using the same unchanged design.

Peculiarities of utilization of hydrogen-oxygen flame in flame treatment of materials are generalized, the flame being formed by combustion of a mixture produced by electrolysis-water generators. The study shows that it is possible to regulate the reduction potential of the combustion product flame with respect to iron, and control the overall thermal power due to saturation of the mixture with hydrocarbon additions.

Structural-phase transformations in samples of high-strength low-alloy steel 17Kh2M were studied at different cooling rates simulating different processes of their welding and subsequent deformation at increment of external load. Analytical evaluation of the specific contribution of structures formed in the welding zone to mechanical property values, as well as magnitude and distribution of strains, residual inner stresses and their gradients localized along the boundaries of structural-phase components was performed.

Stress-strain state (SSS), allowing for plastic creep strains, in cylindrical parts of metals with different physical-mechanical properties in diffusion bonding was studied by computer modelling based on the finite element method. The mechanisms of creep in diffusion bonds, as well as formation of SSS in them, were established.

Computer simulation based on finite element method was used to study the influence of the ratio of dimensions (radii and height) of cylindrical parts of the type of cylinders and bushings from dissimilar materials on the stress-strain state in the butt zone in diffusion welding, allowing for plastic deformations under the conditions of loading by compression and thermal cycling, and to establish the regularities of its formation.
